Sunflowers

Sunshine in flower form :) what more could you ask for in a flower? A true symbol of summer, I really enjoyed painting sunflowers, because they allowed me to bring warmth onto the canvas.

 

They also lend themselves perfectly to playing with the application of impasto for bringing the flower petals out of the canvas. I really enjoyed doing this for this painting and hope you like the result.
