Grantchester In The Moonlight

My first moonlight painting :-)

Driving home from a little commission fieldtrip (gathering images and inspiration from the Cambridgeshire countryside), the full moon was out so we decided to stop and see if we could capture its reflection in the pond in Grantchester.

Grantchester is a beautiful little village just outside of Cambridge, and one of my favourite places to walk Penny and picnic with the kids.

I loved playing with the moonlight and how it lights up and colours parts of the trees and grasses, while the rest is dark. I'll definitely do more of these in the future.

Size: 100 x 100cm (40 x 40inch)

Materials: High-quality Old Holland oil pigments, Winsor & Newton Oil Color Medium, and a Cotton Deep Edge Canvas.
