How often do you see paintings of cabbages? :)

This wonderful vegetable will feature in a commission which I'm presently working on, so I wanted to practice it, while creating a landscape which radiates summer afternoon vibes.

When I was researching cabbage fields (never thought I would write that!), I discovered red (actually purple) cabbage can look really beautiful, and wanted to combined that purple with yellowish/orange tones.
​
The result of this experimental combination is "A Summer Memory", and I love how it came out! :)

Materials: High-quality Old Holland oil pigments, Winsor & Newton Oil Color Medium, and a Cotton Deep Edge Canvas.
